Adding Sightings and Managing Life Lists |

Adding sightings is a simple two step process, create a field trip &
select your sightings.
Menu bar: Sightings > New Field Trip
- First select "New Field Trip" from the Sightings drop down in the main
menu bar. A field trip must be created for every date or location
you wish to record sightings, even if those
sightings occurred in your backyard. Select a name for
your sightings list and select the corresponding date for your field
trip (See figure 1-1).

Using the drop-down Select a location
for your sightings. if the location does not appear in your
locations drop-down you can search for locations to add to your profile by
clicking on the manage locations link.

You can now add a description or Sightings
notes to your field trip to help you remember this outing. When you
are finished click the create Sightings List button. The checklist you selected will appear(See
figure 1-2).

- Check the species that were sighted on your field trip
you can move to a specific family by using the drop-down at the top of the
species selection screen. To return to the top of the screen or the
family drop down you can click on the "Back to Top" Link on the right of
the screen. When you have selected all your sightings click the
"Submit Sightings" button. If you make a mistake you can edit or add
sightings in your field trip by clicking edit field trips on the main menu
bar under the Sightings drop-down.
